A high school junior died after he stood up in a double-decker bus at it traveled down a San Diego highway and was struck by an overpass. Mason Zisette, 16, of Manhattan Beach, was on the open air top level of the tour bus with about 40 other teens Thursday night when the incident occurred. He was rushed to a local hospital only to die two days later. Adult chaperones were inside on the lower level, according to KNBC. The bus was going only 45 miles per hour when Zisette was struck.;The teen was reportedly dancing and not facing forwards when he struck the bridge about 15-feet over the roadway, according to the sign posted on the overpass. Zisette’s head and hands were struck by overpass, said police. The bus immediately pulled over as 911 was called, KNBC reported, and paramedics were on the scene within minutes. There were about 45 passengers on the bus, according to the Los Angeles Times. Most of them were under the age of 18. Gage Stroman, 17, was among the passengers.
