Hours after four people were shot, one fatally in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter on Hudson Avenue, Rochester police are investigating to determine what led to the deadly encounter.

What happened in the Walmart parking lot?
Four people were shot, one fatally, in the parking lot at 1490 Hudson Ave. shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.
Rochester Police Capt. Frank Umbrino said that an 18-year-old man died as a result of gunfire outside the Walmart SuperCenter, 1490 Hudson Ave. He and three others were taken to Rochester General Hospital by private vehicle. The young man was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at the hospital.
A 43-year-old man was shot in the upper body, suffered serious injuries and is "fighting for his life," Umbrino said. Two others — a 23-year-old man and a 31-year-old man — were both shot in the lower body and suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, he said. Source

Some women were seen swaying over an ambulance on Lake Merritt in Oakland. California On Saturday night, an ambulance crew tried to head to the shooting site, where one was killed and at least seven were injured.
The ambulance was stopped on the truck by a crowd of about 1,000 people when people gathered to celebrate June 16th.
When the ambulance arrived at the scene, the noisy people continued the party, regardless of the severity of the situation nearby.
When the ambulance couldn’t go any further, at least five women began to twist sideways, and another pair jumped into the hood of the emergency vehicle.
At least one person was also found on the roof at some point.
Video footage of the incident became a hot topic on Twitter, showing that June participants not only ignored the shootings in Auckland, but also used ambulances as a means of their enjoyment.

On Saturday, an unidentified group attacked and abducted a waitress who confronted them about running out on a $70 tab, according to New Jersey authorities.
The 20-year-old victim was reportedly working at Nifty Fifty’s in Washington Township when she pursued the five suspects, who allegedly left the establishment without paying for their meals. Police said the suspects pulled her inside a vehicle and assaulted her, according to WPVI.
Surveillance footage apparently shows a woman run out of the vehicle before the vehicle takes off with the waitress inside.
The suspects allegedly pushed the victim out of the vehicle on Route 42, less than a mile from the restaurant. Police believe the vehicle did a U-turn to pick up the woman who initially fled, according to WCAU.
The news station reported that the victim did not have a cellphone on her but managed to get across the busy highway and back to the diner, where she called 911. Police said she had bruises and possibly suffered a concussion. Source

LOS ANGELES - A Bel Air homeowner is in shock after coming face to face with a violent naked man who broke into his house and killed the family pets.
Mat Sabz was home alone Thursday afternoon when his wife called to tell him that security cameras showed a naked man breaking into their home.
"I see a man downstairs, eye to eye. Immediately I raised my voice and pointed at him saying ‘hey what are you doing’", Sabz told FOX 11.
However, that encounter did not stop the naked intruder.
"He didn’t leave. He looked at me and said ‘this is my house, what are you doing here’ and before I could say a word he said ‘I’m going to call the police’. And right away I realized that this is not a person that you want to engage with any further," Sabz stated.
Mat ran into a room while the intruder went back downstairs and made himself at home; he was even caught swimming in the pool and trying on clothes.
The suspect then saw the homeowner’s two parakeets.
"First he smiled at them like a serial killer. He put his hands near them, dropped them, and stomped on them. The other bird knew what was going on. You can hear the bird screaming and he did the same thing with the second bird. And that kind of changed everything when we saw that he killed these two defenseless animals." Source

The shooting took place as people were leaving Chicago’s 43rd Annual Puerto Rican People’s Day Parade, which people from all over the country and Puerto Rico travel to the city to attend.
The victims had a large Puerto Rican flag waving from their car when they were approached by a mob of black men and pulled from the vehicle and shot.Police say the couple was “ambushed” by “up to three males.”
ABC 7 reports that “the man was rushed to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He has not been identified. The woman was struck in the neck and rushed to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.” Source

Driver crashes into crowd at Pride parade in Florida; 1 dead
WILTON MANORS, Fla. (AP) — A driver slammed into spectators Saturday evening at the start of a Pride parade in South Florida, killing one man and seriously injuring another, authorities said.
Some witnesses said the crash appeared to be an intentional act, but Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Ali Adamson told reporters that authorities were investigating all possibilities.
The collision happened during the Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade. Wilton Manors is just north of Fort Lauderdale.
The driver and the victims were a part of the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus family, according to a statement reported by news outlets from the group's president, Justin Knight.
“To my knowledge it was an accident. This was not an attack on the LGBTQ community,” Knight said in the statement. “We anticipate more details to follow and ask for the community’s love and support.”
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis said a driver of a pickup truck suddenly accelerated when he was told he was next in the parade, crashing into the victims, according to WSVN-TV. In the immediate aftermath of the crash, Trantalis said he believed the crash was “deliberate.” Source

North Dakota teen girl dies after random attack while skateboarding
A 14-year-old North Dakota girl who was skateboarding at a strip mall was killed in a random attack lasting about 20 minutes in which she was choked, beaten and stabbed more than 20 times, according to reports.
Daisy “Jupiter” Paulsen was declared brain-dead Tuesday, four days after she was viciously assaulted in Fargo, and her family is working on donating her organs, local news outlet The Forum reported.
Her alleged assailant, Arthur Prince Kollie, 23, who was initially charged with attempted murder, robbery and aggravated assault, will now be charged with murder, according to a Cass County prosecutor.
Kollie told investigators he used methamphetamine on June 3, the day before the attack, and denied any role in the assault, according to court documents cited by the outlet. he suspect, who was on probation for a 2017 conviction for assaulting a peace officer, said he was walking in the area where the attack took place but insisted he did “not recall” when asked about it.
Jupiter was skateboarding from her dad Robert’s house to her mom’s place about 7 a.m. Friday when she was attacked, The Forum reported, citing the father and court documents.

A New York City-based psychiatrist told an audience at the Yale School of Medicine in April that she had fantasies of “unloading a revolver into the head of any white person that got in my way.”
Dr. Aruna Khilanani spewed the race-hating virtual remarks — in which she also said she’d walk away from the shooting “with a bounce in my step” and that white people “make my blood boil” and “are out of their minds and have been for a long time” — at the Ivy League institution’s Child Study Center on April 6.
Audio of the talk was posted on the substack online platform of former New York Times opinion writer and editor Bari Weiss on Friday, along with an interview of Khilanani conducted by writer and podcaster Katie Herzog.

Logan Co. man allegedly driving stolen vehicle filled with uranium, a rattlesnake, and Kentucky Deluxe
GUTHRIE, Okla. – Two people were arrested after a traffic stop of a stolen car revealed the two had a rattlesnake, radioactive uranium, and an open bottle of Kentucky Deluxe.
Stephen Jennings is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, transporting an open container of liquor, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and failure to carry security verification form. Rachael Rivera is charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.
The traffic stop was made at 11 a.m. in a Guthrie neighborhood because the tag was expired. Jennings was in the driver’s seat, Rivera in the passenger seat, and in the backseat, a pet Timber rattlesnake in a terrarium.
At about the same time Jennings told officers he had a gun in console, police learned the Ford they were driving was reported stolen.
“So now he’s got a rattlesnake, a stolen vehicle, firearm, and somebody under arrest,” said Guthrie Police Sgt. Anthony Gibbs.
Police also found an open bottle of Kentucky Deluxe next to the gun. To top it all off, a search of the vehicle revealed a canister of radioactive powdered uranium.
“When that happens of course, we call in a company that deals with that specifically and it`s taken safely into possession,” Sgt. Gibbs said. “The uranium is the wild card in that situation.”The uranium hasn’t resulted in charges. Guthrie police are still trying to figure out exactly what the suspects were going to use it for. There are no charges from the rattlesnake either.
“It happens to be rattlesnake season at the time, so he can be in possession of this rattlesnake because he has a valid lifetime hunting and fishing license,” Sgt. Gibbs said. Source
