Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, Admits To Mowing Down Mourners Then Bludgeoning Mom
A Pennsylvania man who allegedly plowed his blue Honda Accord into a crowd of mourners late Saturday, killing one and injuring 17 others, before murdering his own mother, allegedly told cops he did so because he was tired of fighting with his mom over money.
State troopers said that at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, drove into a group of about 75 people who were attending a daylong community benefit in Nescopeck to raise funds in the wake of a horrific house fire last week that killed 10 family members and 13 dogs.
After mowing down the group, leaving a 50-year-old woman dead, Reyes is accused of fleeing the area only to create another crime scene in the neighboring town of Berwick.According to charging documents cited by the Press Enterprise, just six minutes after Reyes’ car peeled away from the crash scene, police received a 911 call from a local resident. A man, later identified as Reyes, had crashed a vehicle into the caller’s car, warned him to “get back,” and was assaulting a woman with a hammer, the caller said.
That woman was identified in the charging documents as Reyes’ mother, Rosa D. Reyes. Source

A dog in Paris has caught monkeypox after sharing the bed with its gay owners who were infected with the disease.
The two Parisians developed symptoms at the beginning of June before they developed the lesions showing a monkeypox infection.
The two men aged 44 and 27, who live together in a non-monogamous relationship, developed sores a week after having sex with other men.They went to the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris with their symptoms after twelve days — but there was one patient the doctors had forgotten about. Their Italian greyhound had also developed ulcerations and pustules on its stomach.
A PCR test confirmed the canine had also come down with monkeypox, confirming the first case of a domestic pet contracting the virus.
Further genetic sequencing showed the strain of the disease was an identical match with the disease that had infected its owners.
The 44-year-old, a Latino, lived with HIV - according to The Lancet Journal - was in a 'non-exclusive' relationship with his partner, who was HIV negative.
The disease is often spread through prolonged close contact with the monkeypox lesions. 'I’d suggest the dog probably licked the ill human and also licked its own b*tt,' said MD Lynora Saxinger, a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alberta on Twitter, adding there were 'high viral loads in saliva with oral lesions'.
Both men reported a lack of energy, suffering from headaches, and eventually a fever four days after checking into hospital.
'The men reported co-sleeping with their dog,' said the journal. 'They had been careful to prevent their dog from contact with other pets or humans from the onset of their own symptoms.'
Experts urge people to quarantine away from their dog or cat to reduce transmission risk.
Animal hosts for moneybox include a range of rodents and non-human primates, but there has never before been a reported case of a dog contracting the illness.
There had been unconfirmed reports of US citizens infecting their pets after contracting the disease, but the Paris case is the first medically documented incident. Source

Naked Black Man Wielding A Machete Walks Into Street, Yells At Vehicles Near Gas Station
A Florida man, completely naked and armed with a machete, ended up lying on his stomach and arrested after trying to steal another man's clothes Monday.
Brandon Wright, 34, was allegedly picking palmetto berries in the woods in the town of DeLand, officials in Volusia County say.
Wright suddenly wielded a large, machete-style knife and demanded that a nearby surveyor give him his clothes, wallet and phone, according to QFox13.
The surveyor started to comply until Wright threw the machete and some of the berries he'd collected at him. Luckily, the sword hit the surveyor by the handle and bounced off his chest.
He then made off into the woods before getting into a white Dodge Challenger and trying to make his getaway. Source

Anne Heche's hour of horror: How star 'drunkenly crashed into garage, sped away at 90mph', plowed through an LA house and spent 30 minutes in a burning car before being rescued
Actress Anne Heche was involved in two car crashes minutes apart in Los Angeles on Friday. The second crash caused a fire that destroyed the house.
As a result of the blaze, Heche, who is best known for her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres and her acting roles in the 1990s, was taken to a local hospital and intubated.
Heche first crashed her car into an apartment building in Los Angeles on Friday morning around 11:00 am, she fled that scene and continued driving on the same block before crashing into another home.
At the scene of the first crash, residents of the apartment building attempted to free Heche from the car. The star resisted, putting her car in reverse and speeding off.
The TMZ report mentions that photos from the time of the first crash show that Heche may have had a bottle of 'alcohol' in the cup holder. In June 2021, Heche said on an episode of her podcast 'Better Together' that she is sober. Following the initial crash, Heche's blue Mini Cooper is shown on a doorbell camera speeding past a home along South Walgrove Avenue in the Mar Vista neighborhood around 90 miles per hour.
Minutes later Heche crashed into a two-story home along the same street causing the house and Heche's car to become engulfed in flames.
The home is located around 15 miles from Heche's home in the Eastern Columbia Lofts building in the Broadway Theater District of Downtown Los Angeles Source

Actress Anne Heche has been intubated in a critical condition after crashing her Mini into a garage before speeding off and smashing it into an apartment block where it exploded.
The 53-year-old suffered horrific burns during the collision and was recorded being dragged out of the mangled wreck by firefighters after it burst into flames in LA around 11am.
She writhed around on the stretcher before she was bundled into the back of an ambulance and rushed to a nearby intensive care unit.
Shocking images also show the burnt out wreckage of her Mini Clubman as it was towed out of a hedge across the road from a school in the Mar Vista area.
An earlier shot also shows Heche moments before the second accident at the wheel with a bottle with a red cap plonked in the glove box with what appeared to be a vodka bottle.
Video captured by a doorcam shows the vehicle owned by the actress speeding down a Mar Vista street moments before crashing into a home, sparking the blaze.
The actress, who dated Ellen Degeneres before they split up, suffered severe burns and has been intubated but is expected to live following the horror crash. Source
