Jason David Frank, the Original Green and White Ranger on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Dies at 49
Frank played Tommy Oliver and appeared in the first season in 1993.
Jason David Frank, the actor best known for donning the Green and White Ranger personas as Tommy Oliver in the original run of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has died at the age of 49.
As reported by TMZ, Frank's representative, Justine Hunt, confirmed he died in Texas."Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being," Hunt said. "He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed."
Frank was there for the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993 and began his tenure as the Green Ranger, who was working against the heroes and for the evil alien sorceress Rita Repulsa. He would eventually become a hero himself, and would even become the White Ranger and the new leader of the team.
Frank was only supposed to be on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for 14 episodes, but he was brought back due to the popularity of the character. He would become a staple in the franchise, and would also appear in Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers DinoThunder, and more.
While he was cast in a few other movies and shows, he became a professional fighter from 2008-2010 as he was an expert in a handful of martial arts styles. He even created his own style of American Karate called Toso Kune Do and was inducted to the World Karate Union Hall of Fame in 2003.

42% OF GEN Z DIAGNOSED WITH A MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION, SURVEY REVEALS

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Forty-two percent of America’s young-but-cynical Generation Z are dealing with a mental health condition, a new survey finds. A range of these issues were largely identified during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The analysis by Harmony Healthcare IT suggests tens of millions of Gen Z young adults started dealing with a mental health problem in the months immediately following the start of the global pandemic in March 2020. The Indiana-based data management company’s survey highlights a staggering percentage of young adults diagnosed with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) during the pandemic.
Three-quarters of these Americans, all under the age of 25, say the pandemic negatively impacted their mental health, with many citing loneliness and uncertainty about the future.
Eighty-five percent of Gen Z respondents say they’re worried about the future in general. The vast majority cite their personal finances, the economy, the environment, and the country’s increasingly polarized political landscape as top concerns.
Nearly 90 percent of Gen Z respondents believe their generation is not set up for success and 75 percent feel they are at a disadvantage in comparison to previous generations (like baby boomers or Gen X) who are at least 42 years-old in 2022. This latest poll portrays Gen Z as overwhelmingly cynical about the post-pandemic world and what role they may one day play in it. Source

QAnon Conspiracy Nut Igor Lanis Murders Wife + Shoots Daughter And Kills Family Dog....
A Michigan man’s obsession with the pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory culminated in a Sunday incident in which he murdered his wife and badly injured one of his children, his daughter told The Daily Beast.
Igor Lanis, a 53-year-old resident of the Michigan city of Walled Lake, was killed Sunday by police after he started shooting at them with a shotgun, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Inside Lanis’ house, police found Lanis’ wife, Tina Lanis, dead after being shot four times with a handgun. Lanis also shot his daughter Rachel, 25, in the back and legs with a shotgun during the attack, but she managed to call police and survived. Lanis also killed the family dog, shooting it multiple times.
The sudden violence stunned Lanis’ other daughter, 21-year-old Rebecca Lanis, who was at a friend’s birthday party during the murder.
Rebecca Lanis told The Daily Beast that her father became obsessed with QAnon and other conspiracy theories in 2020, consuming huge amounts of online videos and following far-right figures like InfoWars’s Alex Jones.
According to his daughter, Igor Lanis was a car designer with no history of violence. She described her parents as once “extremely loving,” but her father changed after Donald Trump lost 2020.
“He had a sense of reality,” Rebecca Lanis said. “But then after 2020, when Trump lost, he started going down these crazy rabbit holes.”
That year, Lanis became fascinated by QAnon and the idea that Joe Biden stole the election.
“It’s a very big contributor to what happened,” Rebecca Lanis said of her father’s QAnon beliefs.
Igor Lanis’ mental health worsened as he became drawn into the conspiracy theories, according to Rebecca Lanis. He insisted that family members watch conspiracy theories videos about the 5G cell towers, vaccines, and the election. He started to believe that some world leaders were in fact alien lizard-people in disguise, a fringe conspiracy theory even among QAnon supporters. Rebecca Lanis said family members tried to pull her father out of his beliefs, but arguing with him was “pointless.” The Walled Lake shootings are just the latest killing tied to QAnon. A California man who allegedly murdered his 10-month-old daughter and 2-year-old son in Mexico told police that his crimes were motivated by QAnon, according to prosecutors. In 2019, a QAnon believer allegedly killed the purported head of the Gambino mafia family in a misguided attempt to bring him to a QAnon tribunal. That suspect was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial. Earlier that year, a Seattle QAnon believer convinced his brother was a lizard person murdered him with a samurai sword.
As Igor Lanis became more obsessed with QAnon, Rebecca Lanis tried to research the conspiracy theory on a Reddit forum for people who have lost family members to the movement. On Sunday, she posted there with a message about the murder, writing “Fuck you, Qanon.”
Rebecca Lanis said she wants QAnon promoters to be sued for the damage they cause, and hopes the federal government will investigate them.
As she waited to talk to her injured sister in the hospital on Monday, Rebecca Lanis said she wanted to warn people that QAnon and other conspiracy theories could affect their loved ones, too.

Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, Admits To Mowing Down Mourners Then Bludgeoning Mom
A Pennsylvania man who allegedly plowed his blue Honda Accord into a crowd of mourners late Saturday, killing one and injuring 17 others, before murdering his own mother, allegedly told cops he did so because he was tired of fighting with his mom over money.
State troopers said that at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, drove into a group of about 75 people who were attending a daylong community benefit in Nescopeck to raise funds in the wake of a horrific house fire last week that killed 10 family members and 13 dogs.
After mowing down the group, leaving a 50-year-old woman dead, Reyes is accused of fleeing the area only to create another crime scene in the neighboring town of Berwick.According to charging documents cited by the Press Enterprise, just six minutes after Reyes’ car peeled away from the crash scene, police received a 911 call from a local resident. A man, later identified as Reyes, had crashed a vehicle into the caller’s car, warned him to “get back,” and was assaulting a woman with a hammer, the caller said.
That woman was identified in the charging documents as Reyes’ mother, Rosa D. Reyes. Source

A dog in Paris has caught monkeypox after sharing the bed with its gay owners who were infected with the disease.
The two Parisians developed symptoms at the beginning of June before they developed the lesions showing a monkeypox infection.
The two men aged 44 and 27, who live together in a non-monogamous relationship, developed sores a week after having sex with other men.They went to the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris with their symptoms after twelve days — but there was one patient the doctors had forgotten about. Their Italian greyhound had also developed ulcerations and pustules on its stomach.
A PCR test confirmed the canine had also come down with monkeypox, confirming the first case of a domestic pet contracting the virus.
Further genetic sequencing showed the strain of the disease was an identical match with the disease that had infected its owners.
The 44-year-old, a Latino, lived with HIV - according to The Lancet Journal - was in a 'non-exclusive' relationship with his partner, who was HIV negative.
The disease is often spread through prolonged close contact with the monkeypox lesions. 'I’d suggest the dog probably licked the ill human and also licked its own b*tt,' said MD Lynora Saxinger, a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alberta on Twitter, adding there were 'high viral loads in saliva with oral lesions'.
Both men reported a lack of energy, suffering from headaches, and eventually a fever four days after checking into hospital.
'The men reported co-sleeping with their dog,' said the journal. 'They had been careful to prevent their dog from contact with other pets or humans from the onset of their own symptoms.'
Experts urge people to quarantine away from their dog or cat to reduce transmission risk.
Animal hosts for moneybox include a range of rodents and non-human primates, but there has never before been a reported case of a dog contracting the illness.
There had been unconfirmed reports of US citizens infecting their pets after contracting the disease, but the Paris case is the first medically documented incident. Source

A Florida man, completely naked and armed with a machete, ended up lying on his stomach and arrested after trying to steal another man's clothes Monday.
Brandon Wright, 34, was allegedly picking palmetto berries in the woods in the town of DeLand, officials in Volusia County say.
Wright suddenly wielded a large, machete-style knife and demanded that a nearby surveyor give him his clothes, wallet and phone, according to QFox13.
The surveyor started to comply until Wright threw the machete and some of the berries he'd collected at him. Luckily, the sword hit the surveyor by the handle and bounced off his chest.
He then made off into the woods before getting into a white Dodge Challenger and trying to make his getaway. Source

Anne Heche's hour of horror: How star 'drunkenly crashed into garage, sped away at 90mph', plowed through an LA house and spent 30 minutes in a burning car before being rescued
Actress Anne Heche was involved in two car crashes minutes apart in Los Angeles on Friday. The second crash caused a fire that destroyed the house.
As a result of the blaze, Heche, who is best known for her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres and her acting roles in the 1990s, was taken to a local hospital and intubated.
Heche first crashed her car into an apartment building in Los Angeles on Friday morning around 11:00 am, she fled that scene and continued driving on the same block before crashing into another home.
At the scene of the first crash, residents of the apartment building attempted to free Heche from the car. The star resisted, putting her car in reverse and speeding off.
The TMZ report mentions that photos from the time of the first crash show that Heche may have had a bottle of 'alcohol' in the cup holder. In June 2021, Heche said on an episode of her podcast 'Better Together' that she is sober. Following the initial crash, Heche's blue Mini Cooper is shown on a doorbell camera speeding past a home along South Walgrove Avenue in the Mar Vista neighborhood around 90 miles per hour.
Minutes later Heche crashed into a two-story home along the same street causing the house and Heche's car to become engulfed in flames.
The home is located around 15 miles from Heche's home in the Eastern Columbia Lofts building in the Broadway Theater District of Downtown Los Angeles Source

The 53-year-old suffered horrific burns during the collision and was recorded being dragged out of the mangled wreck by firefighters after it burst into flames in LA around 11am.
She writhed around on the stretcher before she was bundled into the back of an ambulance and rushed to a nearby intensive care unit.
Shocking images also show the burnt out wreckage of her Mini Clubman as it was towed out of a hedge across the road from a school in the Mar Vista area.
An earlier shot also shows Heche moments before the second accident at the wheel with a bottle with a red cap plonked in the glove box with what appeared to be a vodka bottle.
Video captured by a doorcam shows the vehicle owned by the actress speeding down a Mar Vista street moments before crashing into a home, sparking the blaze.

Highland Park Shooter Robert 'Bobby' Crimo, 21, Obsessed With The Numbers 4 & 7 Dressed Like A Girl To Hide In Plain Sight

Highland Park gunman Robert 'Bobby' Crimo dressed up as a woman to carry out yesterday's attack and was able to flee in the crowd because of the disguise, cops revealed on Tuesday. Crimo, 21, has not yet been charged for the massacre but he remains in custody and is speaking with the authorities. Police on Tuesday revealed that he legally owned multiple weapons including two rifles - one that was used in the attack and another that was found in his vehicle when he was arrested at 6.30pm last night. Crimo's motive remains unclear, but police say he had been plotting the attack for weeks.
On Tuesday, it was revealed;
- Crimo legally purchased the semi-automatic weapon used in the attack along with one other rifle and more, unspecified weapons, at a local store
- He fired 70 rounds from the roof of a local store before ditching the weapon and running into the crowd himself
- He walked to his mother's house then asked her for her car, without telling her what he'd just done
- The woman gave him her vehicle, which he used to flee the area and drive eight miles north before being arrested
- Investigators are still interviewing Crimo but they have not been able to determine his motive
- He legally purchased the two rifles along with other guns in the local area - despite a ban on assault rifles in Highland Park, buying them at multiple locations.
On Monday, after the attack, he fled among frightened paradegoers, pretending to be one of the victims, and went to his mother's house.
It's unclear if he told her what he had done or if she is being treated as a suspect, but he took her car.
It comes as questions over the young gunman's motive, lifestyle and his obsession with the numbers 47 arise.
Crimo had a 47 tattoo on his cheek and the numbers are emblazoned on the side of a car at his home. The vehicle was left abandoned in the front yard on Tuesday after the home was raided by FBI agents. Crimo also posted the number all over his social media accounts, where he also shared ominous rap videos that glamorized school shootings.
It's unclear what the significance is; 47 is the date of July 4th in reverse. The next President will also be the 47th. Crimo is a Trump fan and previously attended his rallies. Source

47 cats are found living in a car with their homeless owner during sweltering 90F Minnesota heat as he 'didn't want to be without the animals' - having already given up 14
Forty-seven cats were rescued from a vehicle that was parked in sweltering heat at a southeastern Minnesota rest area, authorities said Wednesday.
The cats discovered Tuesday were living in the car with their owner who recently became homeless and didn't want to leave the animals behind, according to Animal Humane Society investigator Ashley Pudas.
'Unfortunately, with the heat yesterday he recognized that it was above and beyond what he was capable of at this time. And he let us help them out,' she said, noting that the owner had not left the cats alone. The owner had been living with cats in the vehicle 'for some time,' the Animal Humane Society said.Animal Humane Society said: 'Sweltering June heat and humidity. No home, no air conditioning. Living inside your car alongside your cats and unsure where to turn. This was the reality a community member faced yesterday when a concerned police officer knocked on their car window.'
Despite the heat and unsanitary conditions, most of the cats had only minor medical issues.
The rest stop was on Interstate 35 near Harris, about 50 miles north of Minneapolis. Temperatures in the area climbed over 90 degrees on Tuesday.
'Our Humane Investigations agents worked quickly and carefully to bring all four dozen animals back to AHS,' said the society.
'Ranging in ages from just under a year to 12 years old, our expert veterinarians have just started examining each cat, providing vaccinations, balanced nutrition, specialized behavioral rehabilitation, and spay/neuter surgery. Source

Florida man, 54, accused of $4.2 million Medicare fraud scheme is arrested after he tried to flee to Cuba on a JET SKI
A Florida man who is being investigated for a $4.2 million Medicare scheme attempted to flee the United States on a jet ski to avoid prosecution and now will remain in prison because he is considered a flight risk.
Ernesto Cruz Graveran, a native of Cuba, was apprehended with an alleged migrant smuggler after the jet ski broke down south of the Florida Keys last Wednesday.
The 54-year-old appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Alicia Otazo-Reyes sided with federal prosecutors and said that Cruz Graveran should not be released on bail. He will be kept in custody at Federal Detention Center in Miami until his trial. According to a criminal complaint, Cruz Graveran's company, Xiko Enterprises Inc., submitted approximately $4.2 million in fraudulent health care claims to Medicare from February to April this year for medical equipment that Xiko never provided and that Medicare beneficiaries never requested. Medicare paid Xiko over $2.1 million.
Cruz Graveran also sought payment for $1 million in claims related to medical equipment that was prescribed to 145 beneficiaries by one doctor.
A worker at the doctor''s office told investigators that the beneficiaries were not patients of the doctor.Federal investigators learned last month that Cruz Graveran was planning to travel to Havana and approached him at his home before his flight May 22, the complaint said.
Cruz Graveran admitted being the 'nominee owner' of the company and that an associate had paid him in order to use his name for the business' records and bank account.
He also acknowledged to signing checks at the request of the associate and that he had also cashed the same checks, which ranged from $60,000 to $90,000, at a check cashing store and delivered the cash to the individual.
Cruz Graveran agreed to cooperate with the criminal investigation and turned over his passport.
However, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers reported finding Cruz Graveran aboard a broken-down jet ski in the waters south of Key West, headed in the direction of Cuba last Wednesday.
The communist island nation is about 90 miles south of the Florida Keys.
Cruz Graveran was aboard the personal watercraft with a person known to law enforcement as a migrant smuggler.
Investigators say the jet ski was outfitted with a special fuel cell for long trips and was carrying extra food and water bottles. Source
