A Chicago gang leader who became a millionaire after he was wrongly jailed got nine years in prison on Thursday, for shooting a man in the kneecaps in an incident shamelessly filmed by one of his cronies.
The judge sentenced Thaddeus 'T.J.' Jimenez to slightly less than the maximum of 120 months in prison, because of the trauma the 37-year-old experienced growing up behind bars.
Jimenez, now 37, was 13 years old in 1993 when he was convicted of murdering a 19-year-old man.
The conviction was overturned 16 years later, and the government paid him $25million for the mistake. Daily Mail >>>>>>>>
